Customer Reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic melts The panini press has a plastic handle and plastic handle on the lid. It came with instructions to season the cast iron by baking it in the oven. I was smart enough not to do this. However, after using the panini press one time on the stove top, both handles melted and slipped right off. The panini press works great otherwise-but without handles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Panini Press I was very disappointed in the panini press. The first and only time I used it the sandwich cheese melted out and stuck to the pan like glue. It was also hard to turn the sandwich then have to make it fit into the grooves on both top and bottom. I have other cast iron pans and know they should not be washed in soapy water, so I used only hot water. I dried it right away, but it was very hard to get the water out of all the grooves on both the top and bottom, inside and out of the pan. I have only good comments for Lakeside Collection, however, as they were so kind to refund all my money!! I will definitely order from them again, but not the panini pan.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Caution The idea behind this is great, but the directions should have stated that the plastic handles are NOT ovenproof and should be removed before seasoning the cast iron. I had melted plastic all over my oven. A big mess and horrible smell. Some plastic handles are ovenproof. Not this one...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor instructions Bought panini pan and followed written directions received with the pan. Instructions clean and oil pan, then place in the oven upside down at 350 degrees for one hour. Upon taking from the oven found that handles were melted. A cast-iron pan cannot be properly seasoned if it contains plastic handles . Like the product but disappointed with the handles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWSOME I LOVE this pan! I use it every day. I will never use my electric panini maker again. I cannot believe the price. I would have paid 3 times the amount. LADIES and GENTLEMAN this is a must have product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money!!!!!!!! I heated it for the first time before putting food on it, and when I lifted the top piece, its knob fell off. Some plastic had melted where it was attached. Cannot be repaired and is totally unusable. Don't waste your money!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too cute... Ordered the panini press a while ago (part of another order), but it was back ordered. Finally got it yesterday - it is so cute. The pan and "press" lid are good quality - perfect for grilled cheese!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Grilled Cheese Ever! I gave my new sandwich press a "test run" yesterday. I'm not joking about the title of my review. My grilled cheese, with tomato, came out perfect! The bread was crisp on the outside and the press gave it a perfect texture. Cheese was heated and melted just right. I saw the press method on a cooking show. It is the recommended way to grill a sandwich. I found out why! And at this price for Cast Iron! How can you go wrong!
