"I purchased these planters last year and they work great. I used them to plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers. This year the same and also planted corn. I fill them with water that act as a self watering option. Love them."
Title of Item in Catalog Is Deceptive
"I bought the set of 3 Starter Plant Boxes after reading the description and seeing picture in the catalog, thinking they had bottoms - NOT knowing or being made aware that there are plastic teeth on the bottom of the circular opening that are meant to dig into the ground and that the square around the circle opening has to be filled with stones or something heavy to keep them on the ground so they don't blow away in the wind. I ended up using one of them on the ground after I'd dug up and amended the soil so the teeth could dig in, then filling the 4 corners with decorative stones from my front flower beds. A second one, I inserted into a slightly larger square container and placing in the shade under the eaves and against the step down to the patio, since it was a fern and didn't need the sun. I haven't come up with a way to use the 3rd insert yet. The cost was too high for only plastic, lightweight inserts."
